ok, i'm putting in a lot of effort for this post. been away far too long! haha. i used to read blogs everyday/every other day, but havent found the time to this whole week. so i had to dedicate some time reading thru claire's many new posts when i visited hers last night. haha.
first of all, great news! i passed my driving test on 2 october, first try! woohoooooo. i've driven quite a few times now, mostly to and fro school, and once through rochor and little india. advice for beginners: NEVER drive there on your own right after you passed your test. there were sooooo many people and the traffic was horrid! they need to create a special 'rochor and little india' module for us man. HAHA.
secondly... it's great news still. i think i'm doing pretty well for my assignments, soo... school is really alright! haha. that's based on the results of 2 assignments only though. =D=D
will be wearing formal for the very first time for a graded presentation this coming wednesday. excited! haha. the individual presentation will be recorded, so i hope i dont trip halfway through! haha.
school's been great, but deadlines are coming soon, so i guess i'll only have the time for blogging next month, after the exams!
lol, the only miserable justification for my long absence is cos.. i've totally forgotten that i've a blog! jc students should seriously stop saying that they dont have a life cos my life index here in uni is negative 1000000... .
yea. just finished a major assignment today. there's more to come in the coming weeks, but gosh, i'm so happy to be rid of it! i'm not really an essay person, so asking me to squeeze 2000 words out for a critique is like.. =\
and i'm still trying to manage time for my 3 CCAs. cheerleading and block rep meeting clashed today, so i had to give up cheerleading this week. i'm not in the form for cheerleading anyway; not enough sleep due to assignments! but anyway, after meeting, all the block reps went around the block to collect residents' info and promote 'supper hop'. i must admit that i'm glad to be finally meeting my neighbours. LOL. up till just now, i dont even know who's staying next to me.
all the project meetings have somehow burnt a hole through my brain, and i totally forgot all about maxar's weekly meeting tomorrow. shoot. and here i am thinking that i can slack abit and do some tutorials in advance.
yea, so that's all about me, my assignments, projects, and CCAs. enjoying every single one of them.
ok, i'm supposed to be doing organisational behaviour homework now, but i'm really excited about something, so i'm here blogging!
i went for my hall's special project team -- MAXAR's committee interview on monday and passed! haha. so i'm now maxar's financial secretary. then yesterday was block representative interview. there are supposed to be 5 reps for each block, but my block has only 3 interviewees. so.. naturally we're all in. so unchallenging. lol.
yea. this is the busiest week yet, so i'm dead tired. i woke up at 7am today but couldnt keep my eyes opened for 5 consecutive seconds, and so i had to fall back asleep. gd thing there wasnt any lessons.
ok, i need some encouragement for tmr, cos i have a 4-hr seminar in the afternoon. my last lesson of the day and for the week. 4 hrs!!!. omg. i can do it!
long time no blog! i'm sitting alone in my hall room now, just took some pictures of my room. haha.
yili is ill! so she'll move in only later this week/next week. aww. get well soon yili! i'm so lonely here without you! anw.. i'm itching like mad from those sandfly bites i got from the hall8 foc. one thing good abt the foc is that i realised i actually can run like a horse. hahaha. i love amazing races!!
had my first marketing lecture in the morning, and i must say i'm rather surprised at myself. i could follow through a 2hr lecture enthusiastically without dozing off! but i couldnt hold out that well at the organisational behaviour lect in the evening. was busy exploring the campus earlier in the afternoon.. worn out. haha.
anw my application to take french as an elective failed.. cos i had prior knowledge. like wth. i only know how to say je m'appell xiuwen. and i cant even spell it properly. anw heck, i'll just stay slack this sem and do electives next sem. =)
yay! i finally have something nice and interesting to blog about. i was at ntu's ignite change camp the past few days. finally had a feel of what fright night is. ok.. i'm told it's rather mild.. nothing compared to the hall foc fright night. =S i thought i was a brave girl. geez. i ended up clinging onto my senior for dear life throughout the whole night walk.
i found out that one of my og mate is sijia's older brother! haha.. the world is indeed small man. yup.. and i discovered one amazing thing about guys. i think that they are actually more conscious of their looks than girls are. haha. the guys in my og were sharing beauty tips with us! wth.. i feel so ashamed that they know loads more than i do.. and more hardworking in trying to maintain their looks.
we had talks from different branches of the welfare services club every morning.. and i think i'll join the youth regular service project cos i think i really suck at communicating with young children and the elderly. we were doing cip at an old folks' corner on the last day of the camp and i partnered this old lady to play bingo. i think both of us felt miserable cos i cant understand her english and she cant understand my mandarin. =\ yea. and a group of us got blasted by another fiesty auntie cos we didnt pick her to answer a question.
yea. all in all.. it was a really enjoyable camp.. and i love my og! haha. we're going kite flying at marina barrage next sunday. cool right. i think only one person in the og knows how to fly kite. =\
i was on the train yesterday and just happened to be the female lead of a video captured by a group of students. i think they were doing a project on terrorism, and wanted to know how singaporeans respond to threats in their midst. so it happened like this: i boarded the train and sat beside this hooded guy with a bulky bowling bag. (i would later regret choosing that seat) after a few stops, this guy stood up from his seat and walked towards the door without taking his bag. i thought, if he doesnt alight then it's ok, but if steps out of the train, i'm going to shout after him. before i could do anything, i noticed 2 video cameras pointing (not so discreetly) at me from 2 other passengers. another was holding a notebook and scribbling furiously away. sooooo... those dudes want me to act the heroine in their video? my save-the-day mood was already ruined by the presence of cameras. so i sat there with an indifferent look until one of the guys came and took the bag away. lol. dont i sound like the nightmare civil defence's been trying to banish?
anw i'm nursing a bad cough and runny nose so i cant go anywhere! sian. cant even go to teach. got sick after the triuni bizioacctiv3 camp. the camp's really fun! haha. cant really elaborate here. you must attend it to know how fun it was. i miss its cheer! haha. another og had this 'shit cheer' to insult other ogs. but they didnt want to share it with the others.. so yea. i thought it was quite original and funny.
heyo. had been struggling with my "blogging is stupid" syndrome the past week. i badly wanted to blog, but just didnt know how to put my thoughts into words. ok anw, the week had been very very interesting. haha. firstly, sw invited her boyfriend to have dinner with the chews on sunday night at jumbo. it was pretty awkward. haha. cos he's so shy and quiet. ok. it was so awkward that i cant comment any further.
then on monday morning, EARLY in the morning at 8.15, yw and i arrived at ica to collect our new biometric passports. after that we went to nj to get my sgc amendment done. i just want to say, WHY CANT THE LIBRARIAN BE A LITTLE FRIENDLIER?! she's actually pissed that i'm back to see her for my cert error. grr. is she the one having to take the mrt from lavender to newton and take 171 to bukit timah road, cross the bridge and walk up along hillcrest road under the hot sun? and when i forced out a "thank you" she just huffed at me! i'm just amazed at her incredible ability to stay so black-faced the whole day. geez. after that, we went to amk hub to do some shopping. in 2 hours, i spent $200 on 7 pieces of clothing and an ichiban sushi meal, finally parting with some of my earnings. haha. proves that i'm not such a 吝啬鬼 afterall.
i spent the whole of tuesday morning driving. 2 hrs on manual and 2 hrs on auto. the auto pedals are really.. erm insensitive; have to floor the pedal before any real effect is felt. feels weird. when i went back for manual this morning, i hit the brakes so hard that my instructor stared at me with a O_O "you never drive before ah" look. haha. i'm supposed to do S and crank course tmr, but since we had time, the instructor asked me to try them for fun. honestly, it's about the funnest part of the circuit. and i got almost full marks for my first try. haha. yahooooo. but all those driving in the mid morning sun has left my hands and face rather sunburnt. =S
ok. i just want to share this video. this latvian singer, Vitas, sings russian songs. this song, Opera No.2, is really one of a kind. haha. i've never heard a song which has "ahhhhhhhhh" in various notes as a chorus. notice his gills. haha. love is so suffocating that even drowning in water feels much better huh. thanks for introducing me to such awesome vocals, muthu. haha. it was a ear-opener. enjoy.
